Blunty3000 puts the Cam Caddie Scorpion through the review wringer to see if it can deliver on it's promise of a "professional grade video camera support device which is easier to use than a Steadycam, Glidecam, or Gyro system"

Test footage shot with Canon HG10 and an iPhone4 (including the use of the excellent OWLE Bubo iPhone camera mount) you can also spot a SONY Bloggie taking some shots of me taking shots of it taking some shots of me... oh dear I've gone all crosseyed.

  • @OcRowen I've no idea what "dolly shots" you're talking about.

  • @Blunty3000 Hmm, 1:00, but i guess they re plain tripod sweeps, right ?

  • May be easier to use but from what I saw, not as good results.

  • @AKFreeRideProduction thats exactly wat i was about to tell da guy lmfaoo smh

    :/

  • you need a pair of rollerskates to get a smooth motion lol

  • I find thefrugalfilmmaker's (youtube channel) DIY camera stabilizer much better as it's like a fig rig and a cam caddie fused together.

you can get rid of that vertical swing with the side grips and you can still get those low shots as it still has that over-head handle.

  • X grip FOREVER

  • @Letsgoskate100 any camera bro.If it has a screwhole on the bottom then it works

  • Have you tried doing a mod on it? Finding a way to add some extra weight to the bottom? Might help reduce the pendulum, then again it might make it worse.

  • is it realy hard to manual focus ???? whit a dslr style camera

  • will it work with the nikon p500?

  • Thanks. Nice presentation. I've got a few point & shoots I want to do video with: LUMIX Panasonic, KODAK Zi6 and the Z981 Kodak.
