I've has similar esperiances... Thank goodness I had a base I dubbed 'The Airfield' It was just hangers, a hyperwave decoder, and a psishield. I had it full of Avengers with plasma weapons so I could fight airbattles for a very long time. I managed to down most of the UFOs thanks to every base having one Avenger with plasma beams. I almost ran out of Elirium from having to resupply soliers. Thank whatever diety you worship for laser rifles and power armor!

Also, Adam Randall must be pretty pissed off now in heaven. Released from a mental asylum having saved earth only for aliens to invade and him to die as an X-Com operative. The aliens did what Florentine and the lord of evil himself could not!
