I would like you to know that I think this is a normal sound, but I have escalated this issue to our research and development department to double check if this sound is normal or not.

I'm watching this video and my Lacie is making the exact same sound at the same frequency and and interval. Is this the death rattle?

I opened a support ticket with Lacie, and subsequently send my drive to Lacie for repair. It was returned to me 10 days later with the same fault. I opened another support ticket, sent the drive back for repair and this time, they replaced my drive with their new "Fanless" d2 drive. I am happy now...!!
