Ryan Denney, Percussion, Junior Recital, Bob Cole Conservatory of Music, California State University, Long Beach, May 2, 2010; "Ostinato" by Jesse Monkman. A new marimba solo based around a repeating figure in the left hand, as the title implies. There are two contrasting sections which feature more lyrical passages that relieve the tension of the strict ostinato.

  • I'm not in love with they way you phrased the beginning, and it did definately not groove. You were going, what, 68 bpm? Opposed to the 96 it's written for?

  • Love It, BUT WAY TOO SLOW

  • that is way too slow for this piece.
