The Craftsmanship Museum in Vista, California is open M-F, 9-4 PM and the first Saturday of each month from 10-3 PM. (Closed holidays) Admission is free. It is sponsored by the Joe Martin Foundation for Exceptional Craftsmanship. This video walk-through gives you a brief idea of what you will see if you come by to visit. Of course, the video quality doesn't do justice to the wonderful craftsmanship invested in each project on display, but it does at least give an idea of the variety. The museum features projects at the small end of the size scale that exhibit exceptional craftsmanship. Included are model steam, Stirling, jet and gas engines, model aircraft, tractors and trains, miniature guns, tools, clocks and more. There is also a working machine shop on site where a master machinist can be seen building a small engine or other project. The 6500 square foot museum is on two levels with an electric stair lift available for handicapped access to the 2nd floor. It is located at 3235 Executive Ridge, Vista, CA 92081. For more on the museum and the Foundation see www.CraftsmanshipMuseum.com.

This is a higher resolution version of the first video on the subject in hopes that the video quality will improve.

  • Very nice video of the museum, Craig. Hope to visit when we are in town in September.

  • We look forward to your visit. We will be open every weekday in September except Labor Day, Sept. 7th. We will be open the following Saturday, Sept. 12th. We are normally open the 1st Saturday of each month unless it falls on a holiday weekend as it does in September. Saturday hours are 10 AM to 3 PM.

  • I've visited the museum before. This video makes me want to visit again. Lots of new things.

  • We are expecting an additional 30-35 engines to be added in the coming weeks and are continually adding new exhibits both to the physical museum and the on-line version. Stop by again soon.
