Bryan Fischer explains that it was conservatives who ended slavery and won the battle for civil rights, while it was liberals who were turning the fire hoses on activists.

That's basically right. It was FDR's New Deal which set the whole "Republicans are Conservative, Democrats are Liberal" ball in motion and civil rights finalized that.

Yep. Back then, Republicans were more progressive, but for some reason, something set the Liberals off and made them more progressive somewhere around...I'd say the Great Depression Era, and now all of a sudden DEMOCRATS are liberals, and had a HUGE hand in helping the Civil Rights Movement grow. Who was it that opposed civil rights? REPUBLICANS, that's who! I sincerely want to bitch slap Bryan Fischer across the face. I seriously do. You know what's worse? I'm not Christian, and I know Jesus...

Has this man ever read a single history book in his entire life? How can he say this crap with a straight face?

Republicans were not conservative back then, they were progressive. What Lincoln did was a grand scale use of state authority to re-work the economy of the south by freeing the slaves.

I am a Canadian and I know more about US history than these clowns.

This hypocritical asshole is talking about civil rights for blacks, and yet he wants the US government not only to deny civil rights to gay people but persecute them ? Sheesh !

Wtf dude? My promise? So I forgot about something else i wanted to add, nice come back dude. What's the matter? No facts? Changing the subject so soon? What happened to the topic of which party was racist? You look at the democrat's racist ad against West Allen? And also I never said I was republican and I'm not. In fact, socially I'm a liberal. I do believe that it's the woman's right to decide whether she gets an abortion or not. Don't make assumptions about people. And lastly, you got told.

Actually I corrected myself a while back in the comments, but it wasn't in a reply to you. So I'll just repeat it. MLK Jr. was not a republican and I apologize for saying so, the source was making assumptions based on his actions during his life. And you know that MLK Jr.'s aunt said that he was a republican? So which family member is right? But anyways, MLK Jr. was neither. He believed in staying independent and looking at both parties objectively.

So, you're calling Martin Luther King's son a liar, right?

Feel free to write another 4,500 word essay and show us all how desperate you are to mislead anyone that'll read your tripe. (again)

Republicans say women should be criminalized for aborting a pregnancy resulting from rape. After all, rape victims were really "asking for it." If they weren't asking for it, that's a "legitimate" rape, and that NEVER results in pregnancy...

Ryan (The 'number 2' Romney squeezed out) is against abortion in the event of rape. Is that really the kind of woman hating creep you want in the White House?
