Today i got my Rhodes up and running again! It was in restoration for the last 3 months. One key needs some extra service, it sounds like the hammer touches the damper module or bridle strap. Then there are some small details to fix. I renewed all hammer tips, felt, two hammers, some pickups, tines and tolex. Adjusting the Guide pins for the action and tightening the keys. Then the (stretch) tuning and adjusting starts, just the way i like the sound the most. Deep and dynamic, warm and round, not to agressive (only when necessary) Maybe some little extra tuning and then it's done. Enjoy this great Rhodes sound!

  • sorry, I'm sorta just getting into this, but what sort of amps do you use for your keyboards? and I'm a huge fan of yours. I dig all your videos and I'm subscribed. you're awesome.

  • Hi, i primarily use a '71 Fender Twin Reverb, this is a great tube amp for organ and definitely for Fender Rhodes pianos and basses as well. Thanks for your kind comment!

  • @serenities are you using an "ordinary" twin reverb? meaning not modified for the use with a keyboard/organ?

  • Fender Bassman is so sick with the pianos

  • @xbladeox Yeah, he used it, but it sounds horrible in my opinion. The only way to make a hammond organ sound nice is to have a rotating speaker.

  • @MrJaapKooiman An hammond organ sounds great with a marshall jcm 800, jon lord from deep purple did that and his sound became really distorted, recognizable and epic!

So organs can sound good with a tube guitar amp.

  • @serenities Lol, the Twin Reverb is a tube guitar amp. Rhodes always sound epic on tube guitar amps. Organs don't, basses don't. for that you really should get a Leslie or a bass amp.

  • Fantastic tone! I just recently re-voiced my Rhodes after having put it off for too long...mine was voiced very hot and aggressive, but I realised that I really use it for more mellow stuff these days, and use Wurlitzer for harder sounds, so I voiced it to be a lot darker and "older" sounding...more of a Herbie Hancock tone. This is a very nice sound you got here - somewhere in between what I'm describing.

  • is that the original top or did you buy that new? looks and sounds awesome!

  • nice one hand !!!

  • Why dont ya show your face? Your deserve it to be famous. But i guess you're already working as pro composer/producer or anything like that. Im really stunned!

  • Absolutely amazing sound coming from the Rhodes, sweet, sweet, sweet tone....
