YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST!!!
Not so Secret now hey!

The Blurb is from wikipedia

"A new technology called electric reactive armour (also known as electromagnetic reactive armour, or colloquially as electric armour) is in development. This armour is made up of two or more conductive plates separated by some space or by an insulating material, creating a high-power capacitor. In operation, a high-voltage power source charges the armour. When an incoming body penetrates the plates, it closes the circuit to discharge the capacitor, dumping a great deal of energy into the penetrator, which may vaporize it or even turn it into a plasma, significantly diffusing the attack."

  • @couteau86 dude, I think you are confusing this with explosive reactive armour

  • @MrRichardDude first of all you can't compress water & then there is the weight issue for any other substance, doesn't matter how much you compress something for density it's not going to make it lighter.

  • i demand a slow-mo

  • @TheKaos90 what are you trying to make a "Steam Punk" Tank?. it's be too heavy, go no where & consume huge amounts of fuel

  • @panzermacher Another stupid idea came in my head was some rotating bars (like propellers) , but rotating at high speed.Wouldn't that deflect projectiles and dampen the explosions from rockets and shells from enemy armor

  • @TheKaos90 No, it's no compressible, it is in fact 90% water as it was merely designed to imitate human flesh in ballistic tests, it has no other function or purpose.

What you are proposing is akin to strapping human shields to the outside of the vehicle, personally I don't see anything wrong with that, perhaps the victims would though.

  • @panzermacher Is ballistic gel compressible ? maybe if you compress it to 15-20 times it's density and give it a skin made of the fancy liquid armor , you may get a good product

  • find it difficult to believe this would be very effective for a long period, the amount of energy required must be phenominal. Perhaps a layer of piezo electric material that when compressed, uses the energy from the attacking object to harden a layer of magnetic filings using an electromagnet?

  • one step closer to star trek i suppose but one woudl think being inside that vehicle or near such a powerful EMF might not be good for health, course RPG's are not so healthy a thing to be around either, just remember sometimes the war is won but the soldiers do not necessarily end up OK, agent orange worked but it was not good stuff to be around.

I am thinking that thing is the ultamte Taser! lol

  • @MrRichardDude hydraulics work on the whole basis of not being able to compress water. besides that, water would make excellent armor without having to be compressed, but how would you use it as armor? sure... you could just have barrels of water surrounding your tank, but those barrels would only be good for one shot, unless you could find a way to keep the water from draining out of a 5 foot in diameter hole.

  • @TheSwordGeek Kontact-5 is ERA and it is quite effective against kinetic energy penetrators.

  • i think its funny how some of the commenters bellow me actually think they know what their talking about
