Brilliant discourse.

As far as i know, Paramahamsa Yogananda had a different lineage then Ramakrishna. His Guru was Sri Yukteswar, his Paramguru Lahiri Mahasaya (a direct disciple of Babaji). Both of those had no connection to Ramakrishna.

To me enlightenment is understanding that I was born enlightened but manipulated by teachers, preachers and other ignorant creatures.

one thing that bothers me is teens today belive that enlightenment is in drugs like acid and Mdma - does anyone have anything to add to this? i belive this to be very wrong and just another trick from the government, as far as i know - the buddha wasnt smokeing or takeing pills......people are just useing it as a short cut to becomeing one, almost like cheating to get there- there has got to be something wrong there, it should be a natural proccess from the inside- how do you feel on this?

While it is true that Paramahansa Yogananda's formal lineage is different but I think he was referring to Yoganadaji's studying under Master Mahasaya ("M"), Sri Ramakrishna's great disciple. There is also the connection with Mr. Dickerson meeting Swami Vivekananda in 1893 and telling him that his Guru would come later. He "knew," I am convinced, that Yoganandaii was incarnate in this world.

@edwardmuzika ..i beg your pardon..who told you ramakrishna was almost purely bakti yoga.Dont mislead people if you cant understand his teachings.Sadguru is gods gift to mankind .I thank sadguru for all the discourses.Thou have lifted this mortal to true knowledge never revealed anywhere before.I bow to thou Sadhguru.

You are correct. Yogananda was a Raja Yogi from the mountain swamis including Yukteshwar, while Ramakrishna was almost purely a bhakti yogi. Ramakrishna never really had a guru.

There are other ways, such as self-inquiry, that lead to true awakening, versus the oneness obsession of the neo-advaitins, where energy states are not important. Yet, when identification with the body is broken, it can be difficult even for a jnani to stay embodied. However, it is really hard for the kundalini awakened
