Shall we break it down even further, should we also dissociate Spartan history, Athenian history and so on from Greece because ancient and modern scholars refer to the names of the Greek kingdoms? do you understand that Greece was not one country but a collection of Hellenic city/states?

When you refer to Macedonia having a rich history I will say that Macedonia was the home of Alexander the Great who spread Greek culture to most parts of the known world.

Alexander fought the Persians to avenge what he perceived as injustices against the Greek world..Apart from that the Macedonians in the history of Greek city/states have not accomplished a hell of alot, but you need to understand that when we talk about Macedonian history it must be viewed in the same context as Spartan and Athenian history as it all falls under Greek history.
