In Middle Ages, the Chinese poetry, literature, theater, music and painting were greatly influenced by the Uyghurs.

I know Uzbeks & Uighurs r very close. But why Uighur music sometimes sounds like chinese. Uzbek is different somewhere and sounds a bit more Persian to me. Also all other related Turkic or Persian melodies have the same touch. But Uighur music is different. I mean it's good and makes it unique, actually. Just wonder is it ancient cultural link between Uighurs and Chinese or is it something to do with being part of modern China?
