A fuel strategy call and a great restart get Tony Stewart out ahead of Carl Edwards and the championship comes down to the tiebreaker

  • I was just about doing back-flips when tony won

  • @catfishredneck88 then let him, if you think that "oh, if there was no chase Carl would have one in points" if you take the chase away you will basically take the points away. in a race do you get a trophy for finishing second not the last time i checked. if i win 1 race and you win 5 but i drive better then you the rest of the year on average am i more deserving. if i have bad luck or get wrecked the rest of the year but survive the last few i should earn what all my work in 10 races got me.

  • Stewart totally deserved it. he won more races and drove his ass off... with everyone making these damn excuses, it sounds like were surrounded by Jr. Fans.... rather than Edwards fans.

  • TONY STEWART DOESNT DESERVE THAT CUP!!!! the tie break gives an extra point to the one with the most wins wins that he already got points for. tie should be broken by a next weekend random track 50 lap shoot out or somthing like that they should award points for somthing thats already had points awarded for it. Carrel was more dominant and consistent. Tony tied Edwards he didnt beat him!

  • Dang, I wanted a fence climb Tony! But great job!

  • @catfishredneck88 Tony Stewart finishes third in the standings without the chase. You're definitely entitled to your opinion about the chase, I'm against the chase format too (though as a Smoke fan this year I don't mind it), but you mention "real champions like NW and truck." Your "real" Nationwide champion, Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., without the 0 points for cup guys, finishes third in the standings as well. I'm trying to figure out whether this is ironic and/or if you're just being a hypocrite.

  • @catfishredneck88 Stuck in the 90's,eh Catfish???? Not to mention quit begging for an era you know

    we can't get back,BTW!!!!

  • @Princeofmadnes sorry i meant won not one at the top.

  • Yes, Tony Stewart earned this Championship...he may have had a not so great regular season but keep in mind he still qualified for the chase. Then he raced when it really mattered and out raced Carl Edwards at his best so he clearly earned the trophy

  • I like the chase, and it creates exciting finishes.it is for the FANS, and MONEY, though.it creates punchy and keeps fans interested until the last race.the way championships were before was that the dominating driver ran away with 6-7 races left.boring. now, a non-consistent driver has the chance to win.not everyone wins...
