example: california (strict firearm policies and much higher gang populations) 2010 pop: 37,253,956 homicide by firearm 2010: 1,257

3.37% of california pop. killed by firearms

arizona (where i live. very lenient gun laws and very few gangs) 2010 pop: 6,392,017

homicide by firearm: 232

3.63% of arizona pop. killed by firearms.
