Thanks for posting.

Thank you for this... I had the honor of befriending Rod a few years before he died. I stayed with him for a while in Urbana but lost touch shortly after I left. I had been trying to contact him for months and did not hear about his passing until about a year or so ago. A great mind, a great man, a great friend...

I was so sad to learn of Rod's passing. His path and mine crossed during the 2 years I attended the U of I (86-88). He and I were both on a spiritual recovery of sorts, and I was happy to "sponsor" his entry into his renewal in faith and mankind. He was a good man, and a good friend to my wife Lori and I. Thank you to whoever put together this deserving tribute.

What an incredible man, and a terrific tribute. I stumbled on this through sheer whimsy. I took his class in 1973, and such was his influence that I found myself googling his name this many years later and am happy that his memory lives on here. Just a wonderful, warm individual whose many gifts included the ability to make complex concepts accessible and a terrific, wry sense of humor. He was a rare person and I was fortunate to have known him.

Dr Macleod is well missed. He positively affected my life and so many others. He still comes up regularly in my conversations as someone that I revered.
It made me very happy to find this post; thank you!

Amazing video.
Thanks for this terrific tribute. I took his class, worked in his lab for a year, and eventually received a PhD in immuno--all largely due to his influence. His lectures still remain the standard of higher education in my mind.

Thanks for viewing the video. He was the most influential person in my life, besides my parents. I miss him dearly but talk to his brother William in Scotland often and will visit Rod's grave this fall.
