In this video, I was having a bit of fun with an experiment in physically-based animation of stick figures featured in my MIT Media Lab thesis project: http://www.ventrella.com/Alife/Thesis/thesis.html . In this video, I used audio triggers based on collisions with the floor surface. MIDI audio engineering was done by Damon Horowitz: http://www.ted.com/speakers/damon_horowitz.html while he was a graduate student at the Media Lab.

  • Hi! In response to your question..... Both audio and visuals were generated at the same time. The physics of collisions that generated the animation also triggered the sound. Both visual and audio were generated by the simulation.

  • did you set the audio first, then the stick moved, or the set the stick and the audio happened?
