Sample Playback on C64 at 44.1KHz / 4 bit using a SID 8580. Because it's the 8580, the audio output was so very quiet; i had to add about 30 dB of gain, as a result the audio was very noisy, and so I have also added a low pass and a high pass filter, to make it slightly more bearable. *sigh* I wish I had a C64 with a 6581... :-{

Note: this is not too serious; it's more of a "hey check that out, it's kinda cool" sort of thing.

  • Hi. You can fix this problem, by connecting the EXT IN Pin of the SID Chip over a 330 MegaOhm Resistor to Ground ;)

  • I wish I had a 8580...... I'm still happy with my 6581R4... the filters rock

  • is this modern?

  • Haha, that's about the amount you can fit in there at that rate without compression, right?

  • haha epic noise. I like the way you can output noise out of analogue synths.
