IEEE Spectrum's Tekla Perry checks out Schwinn's Tailwind bike, which uses a Toshiba battery to merge convenience and power. The bike retails for $3,100 US.

  • This is crazy! i saw this bicyle from Japan selling at a local junkyard for $100. and that was Three Years Ago! not a new idea but a copy from a japanese design. And there was not just one: there was a whole lot from various manufacturers and came in wheel sizes from 16 in. to 28 in. diameter. I shall post a picture, video or link to one of these soon.

  • Okay I have the Schwinn's 2009 GSE word. I love it. It should be on everyone to buy list. I pay 2,300 for my. It was very hard to find. But Schwinn will help a store. I get 12 mile per charge. If you only use the battery on the hill you looking at 20 to 40 mile. But my bike do wage 71 ib. My battery now take 2hr to charge. I like go to the mail all the time. When i get there I can find a park place in the front of the store very easy.
