Nós temos a versão das festas juninas deste esporte, que chamamos de “Pau de Sebo”, na qual os participantes precisam escalar um tronco engordurado. Mas os esportistas do Panjat Pinang levam o esporte a um outro nível. Chega até a ser um esporte radical. As competições são feitas no Dia da Independência da Indonésia e os competidores devem trabalhar em equipe para conseguir alcançar os prêmios no topo dos troncos.
