I love em all, but in context, I much prefer the japanese ones. they make you feel like you are in the middle of a battle.

They both sound good, so i can't decide. The US future doesn't go much with the level but does have a good future feel to it. When it hits 5:49 itt has a sense of hope and that sonic has made it to the end but his journey is not over yet.

I preffer the Jap/Eur Soundtracks.
I too do nto understand why the americans changed all the soundtracks

I don't understand why the Americans changed the music in this game... at least both versions are awesome! In my opinion, the games with the best soundtrack (in no particular order) are:
1. Sonic 3 Knuckles
2. Sonic 3D (Mega Drive)
3. Sonic CD (Both versions)
4. Sonic 2
5. Sonic Advance 3.
