I think Watson is not only smart, but fast - inhumanly fast - at buzzing in. So even if one of the human competitors has the answer, if Watson also knows it is hard to beat it to the buzz.

@bahamutdragons - The situation with cars and horses isn't equivalent with the one conearning computers, in my opinion. Still, I'm sure there were skeptics back then too as there are with nearly everything. And I know how much computers take control during flights, I also know how wrong it can go. Development is going towards a more computer run society and I ain't stopping it, I wont be the first one to jump into the self-driving car though.

@perejlm I'm sure someone said the same about cars and horses back in the day. We trust computers do you a ton nowadays. Parking a car is just a matter of triangulating position according to what's surrounding you, which shouldn't be too hard as sensors and algorithms improve.

You might be scared to discover just how much computers take control during flights...

@perejlm That's odd. I don't trust humans at all. Who knows what anyone is really thinking? As far as driving goes, you said her, implying women can't be replaced at parking, even though women are horrible at parking. Also, people get distracted, text, talk, whatever. Computers do exactly what they're told to do. No distractions, carelessness, or prejudices, they simply execute the task at hand.

I will never trust computers as much as I trust humans and I will never consider the book outmatched by a digital copy. For example cars that automatically break or parks your car. These systems will never be as dynamic as a human and will therefore never replace her. That's my opinion.
