Radio announcers in New Zealand in the 1970's used this as a que in the headphones for linking up with the main news bulletin which usually came out of Wellington each and every hour. Listeners would'nt hear it on their radios. The que would start about 40 seconds out giving enough time for the DJ to finish the record he was playing and fade out the song a few seconds before the hour - then bring up the news feed fader after the words "Network News in 5 seconds".
