10th April 1998
Kathy leaves Albert Square behind for a new life in South Africa. As she departed London City Airport with Phil looking on, the theme started and Kathy took one final look at the place she called home, the East End of London.
This theme is often mistakenly believed to be the "Jazzy" version of Julia's Theme which never got the chance to be used in 1993 however Julia's Theme was used twice in 1993 and neither time was this version.
the beginning bit before the original version sounds like reach for the the stars but ends up with the normal tune :(

@afbofficial
that wasn't the original jump into the original theme -I think some fool cut and pasted it in to delete the continuiety announcer who spoke over the original

@FrancisIdents This isn't the original Jazzy Julia's Theme. Julia's Theme was used twice in 1993, the first time was when Sharon, Grant, Kathy and Phil were on a ferry and the second was when Cindy was leaving Ian but he persuaded her to stay. Each time used a short build up to the Jazzy Theme and not this version. I've watched the scenes myself, it just uses the normal build up which you can hear on the the full Jazzy Theme recording just before the theme kicks in.

I'd love to hear the 'jazzy' julias theme - i wonder why they never used it at the time (to go with the jazzy theme i mean) im curious to hear the normal version lead into the jazz beats lol
