I suppose this is something of a goodbye to the ship. I haven't diehard shipped them in a while, but it's gotten to the point where I can't even watch their scenes together, old or new.

I always loved CB because Blair desperately needed to let loose, and Chuck needed to be grounded. And let's face it: their chemistry was off the charts. But above all I'm a Blair fan. I don't say this to alienate anyone who may love Chuck or CB, but I honestly don't understand how anyone who loves Blair can want her with Chuck anymore. Chemistry and heartfelt declarations can only go so far.

When he sold her to his uncle, I was turned off. But, despite my brain fighting, my emotions wanted to ship them again. And I probably would have let myself. I let Dair sidetrack me, but I was still with Chair for endgame. But then he slept with Jenny Humphrey. And he told Raina she was sacred (after two dates, when Blair fought for a year for an ILY). And then he publically humiliated her, for no other reason than he felt like shit. But when he sexually assaulted her, I was done. Finito. Forever. No going back. So when, the NEXT DAY, Blair shows up to rescue him (because, let's face it, that's how he always draws her back) and he says, "I knew you'd come to your senses" I felt physically ill. He was cockily deriding her the DAY AFTER he assaulted her, like it wasn't worth remembering? Which he clearly did, because he brushed off his hand injury (and it's cause) as nbd. As much as I'd LIKE for my former ships to hold some special nostalgia, that honestly ruined it for me. I can't even look at the limo scene without cringing anymore. Which is sad on so many levels.

As far as I'm concerned this ship has been emotionally abusive for a while. But it took actual physical abuse to turn me off for good. I just can't believe that the writers tried to pull off a complete retcon 2 eps later. Honestly, I kinda liked Chuck last ep, and I'd love if they kept him in that vein. But if tptb think I'm going to ignore the past 3 seasons (particularly the back half of seasons 3 and 4), they're sadly mistaken. I only hope they'll try to honor CB's relationship without forcing Blair back into it. She deserves to be happy. (Yeah, yeah. If wishes were horses.)

Anyway, so that's where this vid is coming from. You can take it as angsty Chair or anti-Chair, I don't really care. But please don't leave nasty comments saying, "U r a bitch! Chair 4evr!" You can argue politely or intelligently (though I'd rather you didn't) or not at all.

I like the video and what it symbolizes, but I LOVE your reasons why they are no more. I completely agree with you and I don't understand how people could still want then together after everything he's done.
