This is my multiscreen cover of Sam Bush's tune Ridin' That Bluegrass Train from his album Laps in Seven. I use mandolin, tenor banjo, and guitar in my own new "mandocello" tuning.

Check out my channel where I have lessons, covers and originals. You can also buy some music of mine online at iTunes, Amazon, Napster, and more!

  • nice. I am getting ready to convert one of my old accoustics into a mandocello. should be fun.

  • @HardestyRyan cool you're actually retrofitting it? Please let me know how that goes or what challenges you face, etc. I'd be super interested!!

  • Very cool idea you have here. Im diggin the mandocello tuned guitar :D

  • @HouseOfThe8Strings Thanks! Yeah dude if you're interested you tune the low E down to C, the A down to G, leave the D, tune G up to A, B down to A, and leave the E. If it stays in tune it's really fun.

  • As I´m listening to this, I feel my feet tapping on the ground, and my three year old son just grabbed the Djembe and started drumming :)

    You rock!

  • @HelenMClyde That's really cute! Make sure he keeps playin music for life!

  • Man I am have been trying to learn that mando pick. Any chance you have the tabs or notes I could get?

  • Kudos. You have an awesome voice, and are a very talented musician. Good for you!

  • @bbrizzy89 what condenser are you using? what LF roll off point are you using? You might try playing with the placement of the guitar mic like moving the mic farther away on the guitar and moving it back slightly toward the sound hole. If you want to get fancy you could double the guitar track, pan one left and one right and even add 40-60ms of delay on one side. Then again as you know I'm way too anal about sound :D

  • @legendofJupp hahaha totally.

  • @NathanDanek aw thanks nate!! Yay condenser mic! lol
