Im sitting here lonely like a broken man.
I serve my time doin the best I can.
Walls and bars they surround me.
But, I dont want no sympathy.

No baby, no baby,
All I need is some tender lovin.
To keep me sane in this burning oven.
And, when my time is up, youll be my reefer.

Life gets worse on gods green earth.
Be my reefer, got to keep smokin that thing.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

I said now baby ... baby ..., let me smoke it ... smoke it ...
Makes me feel good ... feel good, yes, I feel good ... ahhhhh ...
Yes, I feel alright ... feel alright ..., yes, I feel alright ... feel alright ...
Yes, I feel alright ... ahhhhh ...
Ohhhhh ...

Ice cold water is runnin through my veins.
They try and drag me back to work again.
Pain and blisters on my mind and hands.
I work all day making up burlap bags.

The oats theyre feeding me are driving me wild.
I feel unhappy like a new born child.
Now, when my time is up, you wait and see.
These walls and bars wont keep that stuff from me.

No, no, baby,
Wont keep that stuff from me.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

I need you right now mama.
I need you right now baby.
Right by my side, honey.
All night long.

Make me feel alright ...
Yes, all ..., yes, all ..., yes, all ... alright.

You better come on up and get down with me.
Ill make you feel real good, just you wait and see.

Make me feel alright ..., yes, I feel alright ...
Yes, all ..., yes, all ..., yes, alright.

  • Everyone click-on the blue link to sign the petition to induct Mark Farner & GFRxR into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

  • 10 minute Power Songs such as this is what made this band famous. Their live shows were second to none!

  • The New York Daily News' Nationwide Readers' Poll for 1971.

Tens of thousands of votes were cast from every state in the nation. Whe the final score was tallied, Grand Funk Railroad had garnered a whopping 75% of the total vote as "Best Rock Group In The U.S." Left to split up the remaining 25% were: 2 Creedence Clearwater, 3. Jackson Five, 4. Led Zeppelin, 5. Three Dog Night, 6. The Who, 7. Sly, 8. Santana, 9.Chicago, and 10.Ten Years After!

  • GFRxR was a real people's band. Rejected by critics, GFRxR still became the first band to sell 10 consecutive platinum albums. They broke The Beatles ticket sales record at New York's Shea Stadium in '71. Despite all this success, they remain ignored by The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Please sign the petition above to induct Mark Farner & GFRxR now!

  • OK all you Funk Brothers & Sisters, I have posted some more rare Farner videos from '87. Search PackedFunk. There are more coming also. As with all my GFRxR/Farner videos, there is a link in this video's description to a petition to induct Mark Farner & GFRxR into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. It takes only seconds to sign it. Come on all you Funk Brothers & Sisters. We need your signature & comments!

  • Now this is good.Theses guys really need each other because they both suck big time in there other copy bands.I know you Farner fans hate to hear that but his band sucks too just like Dons band, its a shame that you tube is flooded with theses half ass video's of Marks band he cant even solo, that free jam terrible guitar 12 yr olds blow him away , but when there all together, there my favorite band.

  • Mark, Don, & Mel were a performance vehicle.

  • I wish I could be there, holy cachucha batman.

  • Mark Farner's pants left me on the verge of collapse, always expected the outbreak xD

  • I loves the Funk. Donnie & Mel's GFR was enjoyable, but I dig the quartet with Craig. Great stuff here. I'm not a musician, but Mark's Gibson jazzy guitar on the '75 tour is a fave, but he has a unique taste in guitars that always works for him. His new solo LP is still on my wishlist. Funk on!

  • the bass just dont sound fat enough!

  • totally agree im a bit of a purist an aye his messenger send the message better

  • No one struts like Farner. He wrote the book.

  • Wow ! I'm am really becoming a fan of Grand Funk Wow !! what a rockin band, I wish they come together so I could see them live, he can really dance love that Indian dance, favorite and 5 stars.

  • Yeah, it's true GFR was more popular than Zep or even CCR at that time, but world wide it was Deep Purple and Black Sabbath who were taking over with Pink Floyd not far behind, and the

Stones still in the top ten as well.
