Greetings! Is it possible to use a 12A in a RX8 and the same with the FC 13B?

@BigBlackMamba101 Possible? Yes. With a lot of work, you could mount a 12A into an RX-8. But why? Same amount of work to mount a 2nd gen 13B, but at least I can understand why you'd do that (installing a 13B-T for example). If you are engine swapping, I'd recommend the 13B-REW from the 3rd gen RX-7. It was the most advanced 13B before the Renesis and has better castings, bearings, etc. Ditch the twin turbos for a single.

@aaroncake, I understand when you ask why, but with some investigations I have found that you can only achieve 350bhp with the Renesis motor and I want a bit more then this. I am trying to achieve 450-500bhp and I have seen with some heavy after markets that you could achieve this with a 12A (450bhp) I do have a 94 13B-FD-3S twin turbo in my possession which will be my first choice. The twins will be ditched and will ad a GT4488 to make my 500bhp. I am just playing around with my options.

@BigBlackMamba101 There are plenty of people making more than 350HP on the Renesis. A 450HP 12A isn't going to be very long lasting. Plus 12A stuff is very old and it is getting hard to find housings. Definitely stick with the 13B family. I'd suggest the REW if you are decided on an engine swap. I think you mean "GT4088R".

@aaroncake, Hi there Sir! Interesting what you say there, how would the porting be done on the Renesis to achieve better figures and would it be possible to run a 450bhp on this motor? There are so many stories about this Engine that at times you don't know who to believe! I will rebuild the A12s and use the 2 A12s as a project on a MX5 which would be a nice one and keep the 13B and the Renesis for the RX8. Will play around with the Renesis and see what I can achieve with it. LOL. I did GT4088R.

@BigBlackMamba101 Very little porting room is available on the Renesis and the port area is already large. You should check out rx8club.com for loads of info on turbocharging the Renesis. Much has changed in the last few years and people are making great power.
