  • people say to eat organic so you don't eat pesticides and meats come from healthier animals that don't come from processing plants that use hormones and other additives, so of course someone can make organic cookies. No one said they are good for you, just healthier alternative to regular oreos.

  • @LbsOfTech Well, they are saying it's good for you and that's the problem. People think "organic" gives the food a health halo. It's garbage no matter how you slice it.

  • @livinlowcarbman I know what you mean, its the marketing focus on all major companies right now, along with fat content. Thats not what Im saying, what I am saying is you are banging food that is carbs. I am 17 and very, very active and eating only protein and fat is not enough. I need faster energy like carbs. Oh and by the way, no where on that packaging did it reference the cookies being "healthy," just organic. I dont know if I posted this on the right video but hopefully you get the idea.

  • @LbsOfTech No, I'm banging foods that have unhealthy carbs. If you consume green leafy and non-starchy vegetables as you primary carbohydrate sources, then there's nothing wrong with those carbs. Although you are a young athletic male, metabolically your body still does not NEED to have carbohydrate to function. Go to TheLivinLowCarbShow dote come slash ShowNotes and search for Jonas Colting to hear a high-fat, low-carb triathlete share how he does it. Organic means healthy to most people.

  • @livinlowcarbman Anyone can be a successful athlete, no matter what you eat. You and your husband are overweight and are preaching health. Health is about what you do more then what you eat. Fat takes along time to digest and is a longer lasting source of energy and protein is hard to eat in high amounts(and expensive). Of course there is one or two athletes that only eat healthy.. but the are not where they are because of nutrition but because of hard work. Look at Michael Phelps for example

  • @LbsOfTech Ummmm, with all due respect to you, you don't know either of us and cannot make a broad-based assumption about our health. The fact is eating a high-fat, moderate protein, low-carb diet is extremely healthy and just this week there was a diet comparison study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine by Dr. Gary Foster at Temple you need to read that says as much. I admire your enthusiasm about the subject, but don't judge a book by its cover my friend. This is the husband BTW!

  • Newman's organic oreo's have not on the same carbs as regular oreo's but you mentioned canola oil in the ingredients, so therfore it not only is bad for you carb wise but isn't treu organic.

  • Oh my gosh I used to eat SOOOO much grits. It's probably the thing I miss the most.

  • @EmilySnider Look for Part 9 of this series...we hit this one HARD! :)

  • People need a series like this for dog food. Seriously. Anything you can buy at a grocery store will kill your dog after years of feeding.

    Sad no one bothers.
