  • 38 yrs old, born and raised in Western New York. So blessed to have been exposed to both American and Canadian music. CFNY 102.1 was my lifeblood as a kid. I still think of Canada Day concerts in Barrie; great times gone by. Thanks Canada for some of the best, under appreciated music one could ever ask for.

    Sincerely,

    An American friend

  • @Lancaster73 Been there, done that. Ever since "one of us" got a car in high school, Wasaga was the place to go to in the summer. Been to Blue Mountain with friends and with school and University for sporting events and retreats. Muskoka, Algonquin. You name it. I love my country, so diverse, in nature and with its people. I now live in Finland, quite similar nature, but I really miss Canada, and that home feeling. And I used to work for CFNY for a while during my college years :)

  • @stvcrocker Have not been to Barrie in years so that is sad news to hear. Well, I can tell you that the memories will never be taken away.

  • @norskfimbulvetr Don't forget summers in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach. The slide rides @ Blue Mountain were the best when we were teens. If you never went, you missed out.

  • @Lancaster73 'NY was the only thing that kept me in southern ON . . .real radio.

  • @Lancaster73 Yes, but have you kissed a girl?
