loud pipes are not an ego thing... they are used to be heard by 4 wheel drivers so they will look for the noise and see us

Only thing I see wrong with this ad is the fact he's not going 15-20mph over the speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic. But then again maybe that's just a crotch rocket thing.

@T0H0E0G0A0M0E And I totally agree with you about people talking on phones ect while theyre driving. They piss me off too. But just because many do it doesnt mean we all do. I saw a biker riding and talking on a cell phone just last week. There are stupid people everywhere. Again thats why I drive a fairly safe vehicle that offers protection in an accident and I watch for all the stupid people in cars and on motorcycles. The combination of stupid people and unsafe vehicles can be deadly.

@T0H0E0G0A0M0E Ive been driving 14 years now and have had several close calls with bikers and NONE of them were any fault of mine. Mostly caused by bikers weaving in and out of traffic, passing multiple cars on a 2 lane road or going way faster than they need to be. I have a family too and I care enough about them not to do anything stupid that could put myself at risk. For example I use a fairly safe mode of transportation that offers some protection. I want to get home to my family as well.

@T0H0E0G0A0M0E And maybe you dont ride to fill your ego but id say most bikers do. Thats why they put all the chrome, loud pipes and expensive flashy paint on their bikes because they want to be noticed. Thats why they rev their bike up at stop lights and then look around to see whos looking at them because they think theyre impressing someone. I used to do the same thing with my hot rod but the difference is I was 17 and a stupid kid. Most bikers ive seen doing this are grown men

@T0H0E0G0A0M0E Im not saying you have to get off the road. By all means ride all you want to. My point is is that you knew before you ever rode what a dangerous hobby riding is & you still choose to do it. Its not my problem that you have chosen a hard to see vehicle that offers no protection. Ill give you guys as much courtesy as I give anyone else on the road but im not going to be on the constant lookout for you. If you dont like the risks then stop riding.

@timeforgear Yeah good luck with that

@92notchback, how bout I just kick your stupid face in
Exactly. Getting rid of saftey laws doesn't make anyone safer. Education is the way to go.

That's realy a stupid thing to say! In the same line of thinking you could blame the seatbelt or the airbag on a car, or the rope used by mountain hikers... The kids you're talking about should be educated (instructed) before they go ride a bike. If the helmet makes them feel indestructable, there's the problem, not the helmet itself!
