Just a little video of my 1896 German Broom Handle Mauser. It's a beautiful firearm and gets plenty of attention at the firing ranges. It is a conversion model, having been a 7.63x25MM and converted to a 9mm Luger.

  • very cool

  • @TF21999 Thank you!

  • If the former owner was the mayor of some town in Austria you can surely look him up and trace his family history down to his current descendants. Get in touch with them and send them some photos of their ancestor's gun!

  • @An0nEeMouse It's a little more involved here in the USA, but using a genealogy program may get me to the family where someone may know the where about of the sequential Mauser. Thanks for the tip! I'll be investigating for sure!

  • its the most beautiful gun MY GOD I WANT A REAL ONE

  • @FuZaKe99 Be ready to drop some serious coin for one. Owners don't like to let loose of them due to their scarcity. The reason they are rare is because the majority were destroyed after the war. Only those smuggled back to the US and some others that were not turned in as requested still exist. It is definitely a work of functional art! Thanks for the comment!!

  • @ZippoVarga There are 50 of them for sale on gunbroker at any given time. One like this is less expensive as it has been re lined.

  • My Grandfathers "Broomhandle" was stolen from the Legion in Orillia Ontario a few years back. Serial # 697046. Anyone knows of it's whereabouts a reward will be paid. He returned from WW 1 with it!

  • Very sweet gun ! i own a 9mm mauser export made by mauser!

  • @oologahan Most believe it was because of the availability of the more popular 9mm Luger in WWII and the delusion that bigger is better. This one didn't get the typical LARGE Red 9 on the handles, which has some collectors curious. I would just like to get my hands on the sequential brother to mine. Cheers Buddy!!
