  • @obscure1956 It Zen. It is pretty crazy as far as rules go. Think about Hui-neng tearing up the sutras.

  • the thing is, you see, is that a monk, according to my understanding of The Shobogenzo, which is like a rulebook for monks, , is that monks are forbidden from touching money. so my thinking is that while he is a trained and ordained monk in Japan, he is just using his monk status as a tool to make money. from the way he talks and presents himself, i have some doubts about his credibility of actually, genuinely following the buddhist path. but i could br wrong...

  • Great interview. I can't believe he taught himself how to play the sanshin.

  • so the questions u asked him, were they spontaneous or did u just think of them before the interview. Did u ask him the questions beforehand, or was done as u had captured it on film.
