I am running into multiple errors ever since i tried to upgrade my ipod touch to 3.0.

First, all Application Updates (currently showing 6 available) won't download. I'm shown the message "You have already purchased this item. You have already purchased this item but it has not been downloaded. To download it, select Check for Available Downloads from the Store menu"...

Then, when I go to the check for available downloads in the store menu I get "Unable to check for available downloads. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

This has been happening at work and at home, on my MacBook Pro (unibody) that is just about a month old.

I don't understand what's happening. When I view my account it says I have 26 downloads available.

Here's what I've done to troubleshoot, so far.

- rebooted.
- rebooted both my iPhone 3Gs (running 3.0) and my iPhone touch (running 2.2.1)
- restarted iTunes
(same problem)
- Checked all network connections. Tried over wireless and hard-wired networks, at work and at home.
- Ran Disk Utility to repair all permissions
- Opened Terminal and ran "sudo chmod -R 700 /Users/cam/Music/iTunes/iTunes\ Music" which completed okay
- restarted iTunes
(same problem)

ran google searches on the error messages and found a TON of information but none really helpful (pretty much all forum threads end with "contact Apple Support so they can unlock your stuck downloads")

Oh, and another thing is I get stuck in an endless loop with the 3.0 upgrade of my iPod touch - when I connect it, it tells me there is an update available. I click "Download" from the iPod Touch Upgrade splash screen, then it takes me to the main sync screen. I click "Update" and get a message saying a new update is available. I say "learn more" and i'm taken to another splash screen that says I should connect my iPod and click update. I click "Done" and it goes straight to the iTunes Music Store... not the update?
