It's a gorgeous song isn't it? Seems somehow even more haunting, beautiful and touching today, knowing where Gram's path took him.
One thing that bugs me about the video looking at it now.....in the group picture the briefcase looks so much like a freakin' laptop!?!?! Wish I would have noticed that before and used a different picture! LOL!
Thank you so much for the kind compliment and for checking it out!

Thanks for watching it and for commenting! This album is part of the foundation of all modern alt-country and country rock......a true masterpiece. I'm very glad you enjoyed the song.

Thank you kindly for watching and commenting....'specially since it was a nice one! ;-) The song remains such a haunting, plaintive and somehow joyous hymn to home.

What a great post!!!! One of the best albums and songs of all times! And Hickory Wind is special to me because I was born, raised, and live in South Carolina and played this song in many of the cover bands I was in!

Yes, this is a brilliant album, isn't it?! I'm so happy to hear from you and the context of your experience with this music.....very cool. I'm really wanting to do "You Don't Miss Your Water", "The Christian Life", and "Pretty Boy Floyd" from this album as well.....man, great tunes all!
Thanks for the comment!
