nice video, i find that instead of making use of hikite and opening my chest, i keep my none striking hand up and lean in for the extra power, i find it speeds up my technique, any thoughts?

i tried it that way and it did feel faster, i feel i get more power from the hip when i use hikite but i will pobably practice both ways. i'm sure there are many other variations to.

just a note: from what I've read, using rope and a board can cause problems in the future.

if there's not enough 'give' and the striking surface is hard you can cause some problems in the joints of the wrist,elbow and shoulder. mine is flexible enough and the striking surface is actually made from straw.(please see other comments). thanks for the interest and comment.
