Aurora Borealis - I Never Wanted to Smile - Strange Geometry @ Route 196

Aurora Borealis is the brainchild of Jon Romero, a platform for lush sonic soundscapes in the vein of the post-rock improvisations and dream pop sensibilities. Romero, also a member of Espasyo Siningdikato Gallery's artists in residence program, also dabbles in the visual arts. The sonic experience of Aurora can be described as euphoric: layer upon layer of aquatic-like sounds...textures consisting of processed beats, pre-recorded found sounds, performed by Romero, both as a solo sound artist, or sometimes as a space rock/shoegazer guitarist, backed by a full band set up. Aurora is a classic example of being chain in the missing link between the sound of art school of thinking performed at art galleries, and into the devil may care attitude of rock and roll band performance.
