@GXPFiend ALIEN 3 to me always felt like the makers of that film were giving the finger to fans of the second one, the way they killed off the characters who audiences had gotten so attached to.

@crimsonsunlight2 Yeah, I say that Aliens was the last movie of the franchise. Hicks is still alive in my eyes - would've been nice if as you said he and Ripley got together and adopted Newt.

Thats not what happened. They actually had a script where Hicks was the main character for Alien 3 and Ripley was in a coma for the movie but the studio didn't think it would sell without Ripley so they scraped it. The script is somewhere online I read it a few years ago but honestly can't remember if it was better than what really happened.
