LFR Game 3 - They Blue It! - Leafs Lose 5-4 (SO)

Leafs lose 5-4 in the shootout to the St.Louis Blues. Despite a 3-goal lead after the 1st, and an amazing backhand goal by rookie Nik Kulemin, the Leafs lose 5-4 in the shootout (2-1). With the game at 3-1 Toronto, Ryan Hollweg got a game misconduct for boarding. A suspension is guarunteed. On the ensuing five minute major, the Blues scored two goals, tying the game. After briefly holding the lead in the 3rd on a goal by Niklas Hagman, the game was sent to the shootout. The Blues won two goals to one. The Leafs are now 1-1-0-1 on the season. The the KHL, Rangers prospect and Russian phenom Alexei Cherepanov died at the age of 19. While sitting on the Omsk bench, Cherepanov suffered a heart attack. He was just 19.

What pople do not understand is that so far the Blues are 7 for 14 on the powerplay.That is a damn good way to start the season and are 12 for 13 when it comes to penalty killing which is also quite good to start.
