  • the problem of the capoeira's songs is that we do not really know the title of then. Most are just sing as tradition. The lyrics: Auê Auê Auê ê Lê Lê Lê Lê Lê Lê ô Tá no sangue da raça brasileira Capoeira - É a nossa cor Berimbau - É a nossa cor [Put a word you want here] - É a nossa cor Translation: It is on the blood of the Brazilian Race Capoeira - Is our Color [here, Color mean Ethnicity] Berimbau - Is our Color
  • they were singning two songs , the second song was paranaue in the movie only the strong.. but i dont know the title of the first song

  • whats the song called?

  • What is the title of this song

  • @Drainx275 Sure :) You know I'm gonna need an e-mail right?

  • @murcelita Well, it's not the only song being sung which is to be expected of a roda. But I'm pretty sure that Paranaue was being sung somewhere. And murcelita... don't just post 'no its not' and leave it like that man... if you know something, then share it. What's the real title of the song then?

  • @dagashi84 no its not

  • The song is entitled 'Paranaue'

It's a fairly famous song that was used in the Capoeira based movie 'Only The Strong'. I can send it to you if you'd like.

  • Yes indeed, but the thing I learned from my history teacher, history was written by the rich people. And since not much was written down about capoeira, we will never know what REALLY happened.

Let's just enjoy capoeira the way it is now. Without forgetting the forefathers off course, and angola.

I used to be regional, but my teacher kept saying angola was the worst crap in the world, and I didn't think that was correct, so now I'm in a contemporanea group :)

    Axè!

  • No, you are correct. And it depends very much on the location and the time period. Capoeira in 18th century Bahia, for instance, was practiced fairly openly as it was recently introduced there from Rio and didn't have in the beginning the same connotations.
