8 OWS activists were arrested tonight at Sotheby's auction house in NYC, for u-locking themselves together during one of Sotheby's biggest nights of the year, in support of the locked-out workers.
Sotheby's made record profits in 2010 ($680 million) yet demanded take-backs from their art handlers (Teamsters Local 814) including the right to strip 401ks and hire "temporary" non-union workers to replace most of the art handling staff.
thats the way to get back at the government protest sothebys, oops i forgot, its not just about the banks and government anymore, its whatever they feel like like protesting now, ports, restaurants, businesses, even wal-mats..lol.
