This is a quick hand held shoot of only part of the the impressive Panasonic Stand at GITEX trade show in Dubai. There was a dedicated 3D Theater showing off the new 103 inch Full HD 3D and Blue Ray 3D player. also shown in 3D on this screen was the AVATAR movie trailer in 3D. No ghosting was noticeable, and the Active eye wear (shutters) had a robust rubber handles that sit well on the sides of your head. A 100 inch screen is the minimum needed for a satisfying 3D home theater experience. The screen output even with the glasses was bright enough to show off the crisp colors and 3D effect. Worth mentioning also was the other technologies on show at the Panasonic stand at Gitex 2009. From medical equipment, to Smart White boards, and product demos at timely intervals. Overall, in our opinion, the best technology showcase from a company at the tradeshow. Sorry for the shaky hand held shoot, due to strict no-camera exhibition policy.

Panasonic themselves however, encouraged and allowed the 3D theater to be filmed.

I have to say I was impressed with what Panasonic presented at Gitex 2009. This is not a paid for review, It is just my passion for technology that makes me give them credit.

Panasonic presented an all round 360 technology showcase for professionals and consumers alike at Gitex 2009 in Dubai.
There was something to marvel at for different markets, Medical, Home Entertainment, Education, and my area of work, stereoscopic 3D visualization.

I can confidently say that NO other competitor or exhibitor had as much knowledge and technology on display per sq Ft of exhibition space as did Pansonic.

To most decision makers, and marketers of Technology from the Middle East offices of bigger IT companies this should come as an eye opener on what IT tradeshows are all about. They are not about displaying the newest cell phone model or laptop.. they are about brining leading edge technology to the Middle East market and conducting though provoking talk sessions and Q and A at the trade show!

There was everything from human mannequin/model on an OR table showing medical technology from panasonic, to Smart white boards and HOW they fit into education - this is important, showing clients how technology fits in, in CONTEXT to an area of work.

And of course the Middle East first - A 3D home theater system. There are competitors that use Gitex as an excuse to show "IT" products such as projectors and lcd TVs, yet these same exhibitors did not introduce their own 3D products which they have shown internationally!

Today is the last day for the GITEX 2009 show and worth a visit, if nothing else, just for the Panasonic Stand.

  • I hope the 3D glasses are better than the 3d glasses included with the panasonic 3D TV I bought recently, My 3D glasses lasted for almost 3 week and that's it,

Now If I want to watch 3D on My new panasonic I need to buy new glasses for 150$ each .

  • Use the 3D pulldown menu and select cross eyed. when the show starts cross your eyes until the two images create a third one in the middle. focus on that center picture, and your eyes will lock on it. That is 3d without glasses :)

  • Wow, I had no idea Panasonic was in Dubai. I am excited because their new HD Truck will be in LA at the HD EXPO in November. I wonder what camera this was shot on?
