Idiotic video. Walmart is a great company that gives an opportunity for people to better themselves and their lives. I work for the company and I love it. Walmart brings 200+ jobs to a community with one store. If another business cant compete then they need to try harder and offer things walmart doesn't. Protesting 1 walmart store from being built wont change anything. They will build it 2 miles away from where you dont want it built.

What foolishness! Wal-Mart is a fantastic business and creates jobs. It provides goods that the poorest of folks can afford. Chinatown already gets tourists just because it is Chinatown. That won't stop people from going there and buying from the mom-and-pop stores. Wal-Mart brings revenue into the city's coffers. The purpose for unions is passed. You say Wal-Mart suppresses wages; however people have the ability to...CHANGE JOBS...or create their own business...this video is foolish!

...the most sophisticated analysis to date of Wal-Mart’s impact on retail employment and wages. Analyzing national data... the opening of a Wal-Mart store reduces ... retail employment by 150 jobs. Because Wal-Mart stores employ an average of 360 workers, this suggests that for every new retail job created by Wal-Mart, 1.4 jobs are lost as existing businesses downsize or close. ...that the arrival of a Wal-Mart store reduces total county-wide retail payroll by an average of about $1.2 million.

In Mexico Walmart bought influences (Corruption) to build big stores side by side with its competitors.

Wal-mart killed the downtown of hundreds of small towns. My childhood town included.

They promote the worst kind of products. Cheap and disposable. And the quality of the jobs they create are dubious at best. They unscrupulously force suppliers into malicious bidding wars that often put the suppliers themselves out on the street. (Remember the Rubbermaid bankruptcy?)

But most important for a video like this, it kills the unique identity of a community. There's nothing "idiotic" about that.
