For those new to Straight and Safety Razor Wet Shaving, Here is a description of how it's done:
STRAIGHT RAZOR SHAVING. HOW TO PERFORM A shave using a Straight Razor, Badger Brush, and Shaving Cream or Soap From a Tub.
A) Shower with Hot Water & Wash Beard with Soap
B) Soak Badger Brush in Cup of Hot Water for 2 Minutes
C) Fill Sink with Hot Water
D) Apply shaving cream to Tips of Badger Brush
E) Apply Hot Water to Beard/Do Not Dry Off
F) Apply Shaving Cream or Shaving Soap to Beard
G) Very Gently apply the razor to your face at a 30 degree angle.
1) First Pass Straight Down With The Grain
2) Second Pass From Ear to Nose Across The Grain
3) Third Pass: From Nose to Ear with a Slight Upward Motion.
Or, if you prefer/South to North against the grain
4) Rinse with Hot then Cold Water.
5) Apply Your Favorite After Shave Lotion or Cream/Preferably Alcohol Free.
6) Now You're Ready to Conquer the World!!!!!

@ Geofatboy im new to de shaving. I currently just got a 59 fat boy and s 69 or 63 Gillette black de razor. My question is what kind of blades would you recommend. Also are those shaver aggressive? I get razor burn very easy. also what kind of shaving cream and brush would you recommend for a newbie. Does shave nation offer package deals? Hope to get a reply.

Hiyaaaa! Have you heard about - fast abs magic (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got amazing 6 pack abs and lost lots of belly fat with it.

When shaving with a razor the size of a DE89 or Merkur HD, I grip it lightly in the middle near the center of the barrel with the pinky underneath for support.

For the larger sized razors such as a Vision, I let the bottom of the barrel rest in my palm and apply zero pressure.

If you don't complete a perfect shave the first few times, keep practicing, don't become discouraged.

It really is something you will need to sort out by practice and trial and error.
