.i am 55 and am a musician also and play everything put in front of me i dont relive those years just the feeling of the first time i heard the song now i play some of the same song for others....in my shows besides the "standards" that one plays one hit wonders are the least played so i do try to hit a few well know and obscure tunes...after all it is better to be a has been than a never was it...and it will be interesting to hear some of "stuff" thats out there now be covered..

when ever one band covers a song there are several ways to go to make the song there own...a great song is a great song no matter who covers it...there are many bands whom i admire not only for there musicianship but who they are and how they got there and the influences that got them to move to get them there RHCP is among them and the cover of this song is done well and true to the original..

It was great 40 years ago, and you're living in a dream world if you think somehow this band made a perfect song better. Btw, I'm 25, so don't think I'm an old bastard trying to relive my youth. Looking Glass, though somewhat of a one hit wonder, still destroys RHCP on this one. I like RHCP but they definitely should have left this one off the set list. You can't fuck with perfection!

If it was in the back room having fun i guess it'd be ok. But this is an orchstrated song and not a bass solo. Guess i'm just used to it sounding so good.
