@5293278363 I think it's dub rather than blues. In a blues song bass isn't strong as here. Please remember that there is usually a vein of sadness, or at least melancholy, also in reggae -- the father of dub.

To me this is and remains a blues song - as blues as Lightn'in Sam Hopkins or any Blues legend in the entire canon of Blues.  John Lydon - through his excoriating vocals and his pain is regurgitating and expiating the pain of the death of poor Syd.
