This is obviously a super rookie video. Please look past the sideways flag if I cannot get it straightened out. This is the Long Beach High School concert Choir honoring the National Day of Prayer. They met with citizens at the flag located beach side at the intersection of Jeff Davis and Beach Boulevard. It was very hot that day, yet they still wore their concert attire. It was a precious day with many people and faiths gathering for prayer. I am grateful that we still have the right to free speech. Though some day we may not call it a National day of prayer, we will still figure out how to synchronize as a nation to pray in unity for those who care too. "God, Hear Our Prayers", "Father, Hear Our Prayers", "Jehovah, Hear Our Prayers".

  • PhenomFan, I am always pleased to hear positive attitudes. Participating in this choir requires a lot of discipline, and hard work. I hope when you graduate that others will recognize the qualities that Mr. Dunlap insists you develop. It isn't just about singing, and music--but life skills and attitudes that will anchor you (in a good way).

  • I am so proud to be part of this choir this year. It makes me want to get up in the morning and go to school.

  • @GoombaJebboMT Thank you for commenting. The experience of LBHS Concert Choir has got to stick with people for a long, long time. At that age to learn and understand the dedication it takes to be in frequent performance under less than ideal conditions. It was so hot that several students almost fainted. Some were ill afterwards. I hoped that this video, though rooke--would make a difference to someone.

  • WOW...this brings back some great memories from when I was in choir. This is DEFINITELY a piece that will hopefully stick with the LBHS choir for years to come. It was always our "signature piece", I feel. Among the rest of my favorites, were Now Shout!, He's Got the Whole World In His Hands, The Star Spangled Banner, Daemon Irrepit Callidus, and El Vito.
