Are you on the speed limit?

So why haven't we put GPS devices into our cars and made it find out the speed limit of our current location and calculated wether we are exeting it?

And yeah, this would be def. a nice feature to have! I think there are even a few navigation systems that can do that (at least partial, on bigger roads). BMW recently introduced a system in its new 7 series, where a camera system detects the speed limit signs and warns you. I guess if the system works fine, it will be available or standard in smaller cars in a few years.
