This is a piece I created for my final year project at university. As I had not previously done any camera tracking, I set about researching relevant areas.
- Photogrammetry (Optics and Projection)
- Perspective and Parallax
- Cameras (Film plane, lens aperture, etc)
- Lens (Focal length, nodal point, etc)
- Tracking Issues (Motion blur,interlacing,etc)
- Video Compression (Lossy,lossless,etc)
- Modelling, lighting solutions, texturing
- Multi-pass rendering (Diffuse,DOF,etc)
- Compositing (Alpha channels,layers,effects,etc)

This piece is a reinvention of the TV idents created by the The Moving Picture Company. My intention was not to copy the adverts, but to greater understand the process in which such complex commercials are created.

My version was filmed in my home town of Milton Keynes from the front window of my Dad's car. The footage was tracked in PFTrack and then imported into Maya where the CG was generated. AfterEffects was used to merge the CG and film layers.

Overall I'm very please with what I have achieved. Considering the resources I had available to me, I feel I have produced a good result. My objective now is to find a junior job within a post production film/TV company, where I can learn new skills.
