I've Been surfing for a while now, I'm half black, but I'm still black, it's funny cause when I'm on the line up everyone stares at me lol. They watch me as I paddle in front of a barrel to grab a wave, and when they see me actually catch one they seem surprised hahaha! It is indeed a majority 'white sport' by race in the human eyes, but spiritually it's just a sport. And it's awesome!

I wish I could surf, I hope to move to West Coast and live by the sea so I can learn to surf and do it everyday. I am black and that has been my dream since I was young.

Black ppl in the caribbean who surf tend to have dreads and smoke weed. And it fits right in with the way of life. I dunno what these ppl are talking about. lol.

I lived in the caribbean and now mexico. Im black and i surf. Me being black has never been an issue to anybody who sees surfings big picture. Surfing is so much more than a sport. Its a way of life. No basketball player paints pictuers of basketball courts. Ppl who get that tend not to care. I think it would have been better if thy did a documentary about the spiritual side of surfing and compared it to other black traditions that also emphasize harmony with nature like say rastas.
