A big difference from 35 years ago, eh? It is ashame that DISD doesn't realize the benefits of music along with general education anymore, and does not promote or encourage young people to excel in that area. The correlation between playing a musical instrument (or music in general) and basic reading is too strong to ignore. Educators need to WAKE UP! Thanks for the reminder, Chris.

back in the bands glory days I really wanted to go to this band as a kid... Because it was so great.. I had a choice to go to BA but I chose North Mesquite because of the Band and the school
