haven't used personally, but others use with much success. trace a circle from cheap canvas (use a bucket as a stencil). cut it out leaving a small tag at some point along the circumference (to pull off wheel w/ ease). attach by covering the wheel head with slip. press down. after throwing, wire under the bat and slide off, peel off when pot is leatherhard. the big advantage: you can throw your base as thin as you want it finished without worrying about wire thickness or trimming.
I got some 1/4" neoprene from amazon and contact-cemented it to a masonite bat -- it works GREAT! Thanks for the tip! I'm using the rest of the neoprene and contact cement to make several super-chucks (from one of your earlier videos).

If you do a search for 'fun foam', this stuff works well glued to a bat or trimming. Stuff doesn't slip plus it has a little 'give' because of the foam.

Ya i wasn't a fan of the give. and the craft foam isn't as sticky. if we are talking about the same foam. But each person trims their own way and what works for might not work for everyone.
